Hot Barrel Cats is a cat defense game featuring a unique heat management mechanic. Your main objective is to protect your gate from a marching horde of fungi called Mildews using a lineup of barrel-toting feline defenders.
How to Play Hot Barrel Cats
Only cats positioned on the wall can fire their shots. As you defend, every attack raises a cat's heat level. Once the burn timer expires, the cat jams and cannot shoot until it cools down. To manage this, drag overheated defenders down to the spawn zone to cool them off while sending fresh ones up to fight. You can also drag two identical cats together to merge them into a stronger tier, which instantly resets their heat.
Main Gameplay
Battle through 16 hand-tuned levels, each offering a 1-3 star rating system. Be prepared for intense boss encounters on levels 8, 12, and 16, where bosses like the Big Puffball, Shelf Cap, and Spore Mother attack your heat instead of your health. The game supports both landscape and portrait modes on desktop and mobile.
Tips for Players
Focus on heat management as your primary strategy. Do not let your wall get overwhelmed by jams. Use merging strategically to reset hot cats and boost their power, turning a jammed defender back into a fresh attacker in an instant.
