Physics Sandbox
Physics Sandbox is an open-ended interactive physics game that lets you experiment freely with natural elements and material behaviors. There is no single goal or objective to achieve — instead, your main aim is to interact with a variety of substances, observe how they react under different conditions, and enjoy the emergent physics simulations you create along the way.
The core gameplay revolves around placing and interacting with several material types, each governed by its own physics rules. Your actions directly influence how these materials flow, spread, collide, and transform. You control what appears on screen and how the simulation develops in real time, giving you complete creative freedom to experiment without pressure, scores, or time limits.
You can work with a range of substances including powders and sand, various liquids, molten lava, gases, and solids that can be broken apart. Each category behaves differently — sand pours and settles, lava burns and spreads, gases expand and drift. The game renders all of this using smooth marching squares visuals, producing clean, flowing animations that bring the physics simulation to life.
Start by experimenting with a single material type to understand its unique behavior before combining multiple substances together. Pay attention to how different elements interact with each other, and use the splittable solids and custom materials to explore more complex interactions. There is no wrong way to play, so let curiosity guide your creations.
