Serpento is a fresh take on the classic snake game where the goal is two-fold. First, you must devour every apple on the board to unlock a door in the wall. Second, you need to successfully lead your entire length through that exit to complete the stage.
How to Play Serpento
In Serpento, you control a growing serpent to eat apples. However, clearing the fruit is only the first step of each level. Once the last apple is gone, a door slides open in the boundary wall. To win, you must guide your full body out through this opening without crashing.
Main Gameplay
The game features 24 distinct levels that begin with open spaces and progress into extremely tight, two-tile wide mazes. To add challenge, certain stages include portals that teleport you to different parts of the board and frogs that flee as you get close. The experience offers three speed settings and four different control schemes to suit your playstyle.
Tips for Players
Because winning requires leading your whole tail out, focus on creating space for your body to maneuver rather than just rushing to eat the fruit. Watch out for the teleportation pits and avoid getting cornered by the hopping frogs. The game keeps track of your best score for every individual level, so aim to beat your own record as you master the layouts.
